Supporting you in your Community

The LOFT (Local Outreach Family Therapies) is a community based project responding to young people and families in Cabra affected by alcohol and substance misuse. We endeavour to support the community in understanding and addressing the consequences of substance misuse. Our approach is therapeutic, inclusive and client centred, always with a view to empowering both the individual and the community.

Our Aim

The main aim is to provide therapeutic support to individuals and families in the Cabra area affected by substance misuse including alcohol.

  • To provide an aftercare service.
  • To use interventions and engage with young people in the early stages of substance misuse.
  • To use interventions and engage with families affected by substance misuse issues.

Client group

The main target client groups for the service are individuals and families in the Cabra community affected by substance misuse, including alcohol. We primarily engage with service users at our centre on Dowth Avenue, but we also have an outreach service where we engage with the young people at the local youth service, local educational programmes and via the network of other helping agencies working in the Cabra area.
Opening Hours: 9- 5 & by appointment (evenings)
Catchment: Cabra Catchment Area
Target Group: Any individual 16+ who is affected by substance or alcohol misuse. Also family members who have concerns regarding their own or someone else’s substance misuse
Referral process & Criteria: Assessment, 16+ and from the Cabra area
Primary referrer’s: Agency Self, Other agencies, GPs, JLO’S, schools, etc
Who do we refer to: Other relevant projects, social workers, clinics, treatment centres
